Revelations about Zarqawi and Bush.

It seems that al-Qaeda in Iraq's leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, may have been killed. Oh, how my heart bleeds...

Sadly, it's only a possibility. DNA tests are underway as we speak, and the Iraqis sound more convinced than the White House does, for whatever reason that may be. Now I don't support the death penalty in any shape or form. I'd rather have seen this 'man' brought to trial. But I'm not exactly saddened to hear of his potential passing. Human waste is seldom missed. (I've made a real effort to leave some highly appropriate expletives out of this post, as you may have noticed.)

On a lighter note, there's an amusing slip at the end of the article:

However, the White House spokesman Trent Duffy, who was travelling with the US production, George Bush, in Asia, said it was "highly unlikely and not credible" that Zarqawi was among the dead in Mosul.

Aha! The secret is out!

(I'm looking forward to the 'corrections and clarifications' column tomorrow. Something ludicrous, along the lines of: "Following yesterday's article, the US embassy has clarified that George Bush is in fact the US president, in addition to being a US production. Thus, the article should have read: 'the US-produced President, George Bush'. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.")
