Repeal A Law competition

Well, it's not really a competition - though the best entry may receive a smiley. And a whole post dedicated to their genius. Inspired by Radley Balko, I've decided to invite comments to this post in response to the following question:

If you could repeal one law, or one piece of your country's constitution, what would it be?

I think it makes a novel change from the dreary, authoritarian "make your own law" contests for the politically impotent.

Place your comments. Nominations are officially open... now.

  • We still have this law on the books in the US that I would overturn:

"In Bexley, Ohio, Ordinance number 223, of 09/09/19 prohibits the installation and usage of slot machines in outhouses. "

  • In RoI its got to be the antiquated anti abortion law. Its high time to legalise abortion.

  • The outhouses one made me laugh. It was obviously a serious problem!

As for Irish laws: while I'd love to dump the anti-abortion laws, there's so much repealing needed. A new constitution might be easier!Abortion is actually permitted - under excessively stringent rules - according to the Supreme Court, but typically, successive governments and parliaments have shirked their duties and refused to legislate accordingly.
